The ASTTBC-PI

ASTTBC is the certifying body of property inspectors in BC, ensuring they maintain the highest industry standards in the protection of the public.

By using a certified inspector, you know your inspector has training that covers all the things you need to have checked out. A certified inspector is also knowledgeable in building code requirements for your area.

CHI and CPI inspectors are certified by ASTTBC – one of the largest professional associations in BC. The Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC has 9,500+ members in many fields relating to applied science and engineering technology.

ASTTBC is a self-governing professional association incorporated under the ASTT Act. With over 50 years as a professional association you can rely on ASTTBC members to protect the public interest.

 

 

Steps to Membership

ASTTBC-PI is an institute established under the provisions of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (ASTT) Act, to represent the professionally certified house and property inspectors in British Columbia. Think of it as ASTTBC-PI under the umbrella of ASTTBC.

CPI/CHI/CHI(P) dual membership $169 + $95 (levy)

Dual membership is defined as professional designation in two different disciplines, eg a CTech within ASTTBC and a CPI within ASTTBC-PI.

Registered Reserve Fund Analyst (Limited) and

Registered Reserve Fund Analyst

The British Columbia Strata Act requires a qualified person to compile a list of the assets (inventory), asses the condition (evaluate), estimate the replacement dates (anticipate maintenance, repair and replacement) and to prepare a contingency reserve report of the costs for future replacement providing a payment plan over a 30 year term.

The RRFA(L) designation is available to ASTTBC members in good standing that have the CHI designation.

The full RRFA designation is available to ASTTBC members in good standing that have the CPI designation.
